My first handkerchief bowl-Venini
« on: March 29, 2012, 11:49:05 PM »
Well did I strike lucky or what! This tiny but perfectly formed Venini handkerchief bowl arrived on my doorstep not that long ago. The auction described the lettering as "Writing on base is "Italia, Verivaris Arritomo"  so I took a punt that it was Venini and it payed off. A tiny 7cm at the highest point and the base is 2.5cm. Yummy!!

Carol, that is lovely! It would be a great buy even without the stamp.

That is incredibly pretty and the photo manages to convey the delicacy of the piece as well - it reminds me of vol au vent  :)

Yes it does remind me of a vol au vent,  mind you I have not had breakfast yet- it sits in my cupped palm so nicely- the glass is quite robust but thin and in perfect condition- a steal for the $$ I paid. Many thanks for the nice comments. regards Carol
