Pressed glass top hat

David555:
I am in Milan for 6 days from 5th - April - hoping to get down to Venice and maybe a boat trip to Murano. I actually built in an extra couple of days and am hoping the furniture manufacturer's sales agents don't set me up with too many clients. This year the show has moved to the new Rho-Pero complex out by Malpensa. It is now one of the biggest in the world I think, lighting, accessories (glass!) as well as furniture.

I like hanging around our lighting companies - some beautiful glass lighting , company called 'Quasar' I should post some pictures of a light called 'Cube' made up of blocks of treated Murano glass - it's a snip at 6,000 Euro.

Thanks

Adam

I may take my good digi cam and post some pictures in the cafe board if I get to Murano LOL

I found this on eBay:
Ebay Top hat

I think it's in the wrong section. It looks like Milk glass. It also looks as if it's had some sort of painted pattern on the top.

Oops, I thought it was milk glass until I looked again. It looks like Parian, or should I say Biscuit Porcelain?

Both the same I think.

Hello:

Have a look at eBay listing 7406490946 for your hat complete with the correct salt and pepper shakers.

David555:
Excellent Sid

I take back it is a match striker - a neat condiment set - incongruous looking but right nevertheless.

I was fooled by the band under the brim it looks so like a strike strip I have on some top hat match holders.

My only reservation with this was that it was very shallow for matches, especially the older, longer type.

I live and learn

I appoligise for agreeing with the most profitable answer.

I will learn.

Someone once said to me "You are young, but you will learn.  8)

That someone now says: "You are young".

I'm not looking forward to the silence.
