Please help to identify this vase
« on: April 25, 2012, 09:34:21 PM »
Hello,
I have been given this vase as a gift from my friend. It is believed to be a Czech glass vase. Does anyone know more about it? I've done my research and could not find such a piece nowhere.
Every help is much appreciated.

Regards
Petr

Hi Petr, welcome! Others here I am sure could reply too but I will try.

This great website run by Jindrich Parik http://www.cs-sklo.cz/
Has several Chribska glassworks catalogues, you may be able to trace this pattern in earlier catalogues than I have looked in, I am not sure who designed this vase but many of these hutni sklo type vases from Chribska are attributed to Josef Hospodka and many of us on GMB own or have owned pieces by this factory:

Hello Robert and thank you for your reply. I was convinced this vase must have been made in Chribska factory. Thank you for the links now I am pretty much convinced.

I have one of these with a label. It's fairly modern (after 1993). I'm not sure what Studio Skla is exactly, but I think this design is clearly from the factory we call Chribska. Maybe this one is a sort of spin-off production center post-1993 that makes Chribska designs.

Maybe someone else knows more what the factory situation in Chribska is today?

Astrid:

Thank you for shared information. This one however hasn't got a label.

Kenneth:

My friend made a pictures. He's got all the equipment. All I know is that you need some special tent and lights in order to achieve such an environment.
