id request 1apple signed hicol, nicol?
« on: April 27, 2012, 10:47:21 AM »
Hello there, new user, I posted an introduction in the general chat place.

Here is dad's one paperweight.

It appears to be signed hicol or nicol? on the body of the apple which I have tried to indicate by an arrow.

Any ideas?

This is the first time I've tried to post a picture so fingers crossed!

Welcome to the board,

Personally I have no idea about these type of items, but lots of makers around the world have produced them, although "hicol" or "nicol" is not a name I recognise. It does appear to be a well made piece and maybe somebody else will know who the maker is.

Could you provide a closeup photo of the signature? And a photo of the base, to show the type of finishing, could also be helpful.
