See GlassGallery file of four images, each with click image to enlarge feature.

Nom. cap. ½ pint, actual cap. to rim ¾ pint, h. 3 3/8" 8.8cm, l. 5 3/8" 13.7cm, w. 3 7/8" 9.9cm, weight 12¾oz 372g.   16 panels around sides.   Sans-serif lettering height 7mm — punch font not immediately recognised.

Likely to be by one of the big four, Davidson, Sowerby, Jobling, and Bagley, with Davidson and Bagley best known for one-off special commissions.

Also known with lettering "J & A CARPENTER" / "SUTHERLAND BRAWN" above the side panels on a slightly more upright mould, suggesting a different glassworks.   I don't know which of the two came first, but a Newcastle area directory check should reveal this and provide date ranges.

Brawn is boiled up pig's head, sometimes including pig's trotters.   I imagine that these moulds were filled then sealed with fat and waxed card.

Any thoughts?

Looks very like the standard Bagley oval jelly mould. Is is the third of a quart size?

...   third of a quart size?

Christine — possibly, and there would still be room for a fat and waxed card seal.

My "Nom. cap. ½ pint" came from thinking of the three standard sizes of oval mould as 1 pint, ½ pint, and ¼ pint, which is how I've thought of them since childhood.

That's the most suitable size mentioned in the Bagley book 3rd ed

I also just found this http://www.inchicore-pressedglass-museum.org/0247.htm
and
http://www.hogelandshoeve.nl/index71.html

Leerdam might explain why Patricia has six of the other sort

I wonder if there's a connection between Sutherland Brawn and Sutherland's spreads as still sold in supermarkets?

There's a perfect match in my photocopied Davidson catalogue to add into the possibilities.

Thanks everyone.

Note that http://www.hogelandshoeve.nl/index71.html describes the Charles Carpenter mould as "Berry and Stem".   Mine is clearly not, as you can see from my photographs, it's what they call "Berry" — there is no trace of a stem.
