Is this one by Hlava? or Vizner?
« on: May 13, 2012, 10:38:28 AM »
Found this vase in a Prague antique shop, and they said it was a Hlave design. Just looking for confirmation - for some reason the name of Vizner keeps popping up when I look at it, but I might be confusing it with a different design. And I seem to remember there is a thread somewhere on a similar vase, but I can't find it... More info welcome!

22 cm high, 8 cm diameter. Very thick, probably crystal. I'm thinking Crystalex Novy Bor 60s-70s as for the where and when. It's got the right age, judging from the little scratches and the little bits of grime in the areas where cleaning is difficult.

Thanks! Seems my intuition on the 'who' bit wasn't too far off :)

I've been staring at Skrdlovice designs for the good part of the evening, but I can't seem to find the right one. It looks close to the one Anik has in her collection (very nice too, Anik), but that's certainly not the same. And there is one in the 80s by Vizner that looks certainly close, but the pattern is slightly different.

Would you by any chance have more info on the year and/or pattern number?

7554 mistakenly in the patterns as a svicen candleholder........ at least this is a pattern match for the item listed as such on the excellent Vizner cd from GMB member Jindrich..... possibly an item later remade by Beranek Glass post 94 too but if anybody can be sure it is Jindrich! I will see if he can see this thread.....

And thanks for the confirmation Jindrich. As you can see, at least I brought back one reasonably priced vase from Prague :).
