Michael — I'm sure that this is a trinket set, aka a dressing table set.   If you imagine a bowl or clock flanked or garnished by a pair of matching vases or candlesticks — that's a garniture set.

I can't help with an attribution.

Hello, the French call this a "Garniture de Toilette".

Indeed they do, which is the French equivalent of toilet set, trinket set, dressing table set, boudoir set, etc...  but that's not what's normally meant by the term garniture set, which is one item flanked by a pair of other items. It's one of those odd cases where the literal words don't mean the same as the English term. :)

Anne, would you care to take a stab at attribution?

Hi Michael, my feeling is that it's probably no later than 1920s, possibly Czech / Bohemian... I'd be looking at makers like Josephinenhutte, Umann, Bruder Feix or Bruder Rachmann initially, but I'd not want to point a finger at any and say for sure without finding catalogue evidence.

I've been through all my ref stuff this afternoon and can't find this set - it's quite a distinctive design, so should have jumped out.

I assume there are no clues on the glass or any marks on the metal part?
