Faceted Millefiori weight. Anything interesting?
« on: June 06, 2012, 12:55:12 AM »
I found this lovely weight recently and haven't managed to pin down a maker by myself (though that might have something to do with moving house and not having much time to look). I was wondering if anyone here could point me in any helpful directions :)

Hi Cat,

Murano, probably mid 20th century. Possibly Fratelli Toso.

With the faceting and the well set cane layer, and "relaxed" colour palette, it is a Murano weight that, for once, I quite like the look of. ;D

Hi Kevin, how ya doing. Hope life is treating you well :)

Thanks for confirming my suspicions. The canes had me thinking it was likely Murano.... but I don't always trust my judgement on Paperweights lol.

It is not easy to pin down specific manufacturers in Murano, but this could be a Galliano Ferro piece like my butterfly below.
