This glass paperweight has a photo of a mother and children in period costume on a white plaque encased in clear glass. On the reverse of the plaque is printed "Made by ALBERT GRAESER Pittsburg, Pa." - so there is no mystery who made it. It's 3.6 inches in diameter and is in such good condition that it looks almost modern (aside from the subjects' dress.)
Does anyone know anything more about the weight such as its age (guessing c1900) and rarity (first one I've ever seen in the UK.)? Also I am curious about subject matter of the weight. Is it a random photo of mother and children that was produced in number, or was it of a specific family made to order?
Thanks in advance
