Belgian Scailmont ring holder in uranium
« on: June 30, 2012, 05:19:48 PM »
pale citrine in daylight, but strong reaction to the u.v. torch.            Belgian Scailmont factory, and wording in relief on the inside says....VERRERIES DE SCAILMONT and underneath that there is the word  MANAGE.  (no 'a trois' unfortunately ;)).          What sort of date might this be please, and what is the meaning of the word MANAGE, used in this sense?            My thanks to Pamela's pressglas-pavillon for help with this one. :)

Manage is the town in Belgium where the Scailmont glassworks were until they closed in 1970.

well, I'd never have guessed that  -  many thanks for the information Ivo :)        I don't think there is a manufacturing date on Pamela's site (for her set) - so don't know whether this uranium one might have been before or after 1940.
