Tchecoslovaquie fruit bowl
« on: July 07, 2012, 03:54:16 PM »
Bought today for a few pounds alarge and heavy fruit bowl/basket in clear moulded glass with thick applied handle - 11" wide by 10.5" high - marked in the bowl 'Tchecoslovaquie' - so I know its Czech and probably for French market but does anyone recognise the shape and factory - I have seen these baskets often but much smaller and unmarked.

Thanks Adam

Newhall, Libochovice before 1958 page 34: basket # 2178/A - 290 x 200 mm looks like a perfect match  :)

I don't have that book, only Newhall - Sklo Union. Art before industry - interesting it's pre 1958. Thanks for ID and factory code.

It's the same book. The Libochovice catalogue is undated but known to be pre-1958. Some of those designs were made for many years.
