Two Large Hermanova Hut "Shells" Vases Boxed
« on: July 12, 2012, 10:51:50 AM »
I picked these vases up about a year back and have never seen any similar or any documentation. There was a large matching footed bowl on Ebay a while back which I did buy, but it arrived in smithereens. They weigh just under 2 kilos each 9" high x 6" diameter. Just sharing really, but if anyone can give me a date or any further info I'd be very interested. :)

They were made in 1993 or later (start date of Czech Republic), other than that I can not help.

Hi Jayne, I can't help much with your vases either, however the box gives you the pattern number: 20572.

It would be nice to know who the designer is.

Hi Anik, thank-you and yes it would be nice to know the designer. Not sure if anyone is interested but I have pics of the broken bowl which was also huge and heavy.

Also a better one of the base of the vase box.

Oh my, that's unfortunate!  I understand that nobody's perfect and that accidents do happen, but it seems to me the seller showed complete lack of imagination while packing...

or maybe the seller showed too much imagination... imaginary bubblewrap and padding don't always work. ::)

Hehe Anik, there was some bubble wrap but not nearly enough, there were so many small shards of glass I had to pull the wrap off for a photo, leaving the remains inside the box. To be fair the seller was totally apologetic and refunded immediately in full, explaining they had been unwell and someone else had wrapped it for them, and how there was no need for me to have sent photos. :)
