Help please, art deco czech trinket dish, fake??
« on: July 23, 2012, 10:58:44 AM »
Hi,sorry no photo as i am having trouble posting them.
I just recieved a Art Deco Nude Lady Trinket Dish,i know nothing about them but did have alook on the web before i bought it & listing also stated with label.

Now i have it in my hand it has come without label & it looks/ feels new with only very slight wear to the base.
Does anyone have one i can compare mine with or know about them.
I will ask my son in alittle while to add the link to the listing.

Thanks heaps ;D

Sounds like it is probably one of the Desna reproductions

If listing states with label I should think you have grounds for return anyway.
It would be interesting to know what the label said.

Thanks for your answer,I agree re copy of Desna after having a look around.
Seller has offered part refund & to send label which they found on the floor.
Ends up costing $20

I would say that is a bargain.

It's not a copy of the Desna stuff. Desna stuff is high-quality modern Czech reproductions using old moulds from several defunct Czech companies. At $20 you got a bargain. We would still be interested in a picture and to know what the label said and have a picture of it.

Hi,i had replied to this but its gone somewhere  ???

I was feeling bad,as i said above i did consider it was a copy from an old mold because i had read that somewhere while researching, just didn't realize it was still worth some $$.
I did also say that maybe i should contact the seller & say not to refund any money & took another look at the listing, its listed as "Art Deco Depression Glass".
Am i playing with words & should i contact & say dont refund  ??? or as its listed as something it is not its not really as described.

I want to do the right thing ;D

Re posting photo's i am more than happy to for you,i am having so much trouble with that & my son who was going to help has left the house twice & we have both forgotten about photo's.
Someone kindly posted step by step instructions, nope still couldn't,i post them on 4 other sites without any probs n this is driving me crazy  :-[ ::).
So if you can wait,it will happen..............sometime  ;D
