Sarah Richardson Egg
« on: July 24, 2012, 09:13:02 PM »
An egg shaped paperweight/object in blue glass with gold leaf - flat on one side and polished on base with etched marks 'Sarah Richardson 1991'

I don't know anything about this maker except for one small link and I don't even know if its the same person - http://www.flickr.com/photos/nationalmuseumsscotland/5598110598/

Any help welcomed

Adam

Another of Sarah Richardson's pieces has come up for sale on eBay. See http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Isle-of-Wight-Azurene-tube-Vase-blue-1992-by-Sarah-Richardson-/221861756732.

The vase and the egg are of the same time period and use similar techniques as used in Azurene of Isle of Wight Studio Glass. I do not know if Sarah Richardson was a glassmaker there or not. So many people worked with the Harriss's over the years. I could ask Tim if he remembers Sarah.

Thanks - I still have this piece - it sits amongst my IOW weights and some Royal Brierley - which are quite similar

It's the same blue as was used by Charlie Meaker, with silver foil decor, but I don't know where it was that CM made everything he made - he was at IoWSG for a while and ended up as a director of a big Scandanavian Glass company.
