Blue pressed glass trinket set. Tray, 2 sizes of lidded pot, candlestick (only 1?) and ringholder.

No dimensions - sorry.

Pots have slightly-flared 'plume' finials to lids, echoed in a similar shape to the stem of the candlestick.

IDs, opinions etc., please?

Have found what I think are the candlesticks (in clear, not blue) in the 'candlesticks' section of www.pressglas-pavillon.de

Pamela lists them as Reich, 1934, and identifies them as pattern number 8898.

I will check on Marcus Newhall's CD-ROM in due course to try and find the pattern numbers for the tray, pots and ringholder.

This probably sounds quite stupid,  but  - where do I find the Reich 1934 catalogue to check, please?

I purchased this very set from Lizzie-1234 (I think you're confused as "thesecretcupboard" is from Etsy) a couple of days ago, it hasn't even been delivered yet.

I bought it at no small cost to photograph for a large project I am working on re trinket sets, which you will all eventually be able to access. It was going to be one of my rather special sets to photograph.

I ID'd the pieces from Pamela's site and other online sales some time ago and have not seen the catalogue.

Is there possibly a need to link an Ebay listing initially to see if a set is unidentifed?

Sorry Jayne, you're quite correct. It was Lizzie-1234 on ebay who gave permission. thesecretupbaord also listed a not-dissimilar blue trinket set and gave permission, I just got my etsy database mixed up with my ebay database on this occasion.

I'll certainly take to heart your point linking to an active ebay listing initially to see if there is already an ID.

The biggest problem I can see with linking to live ebay listings is that it may alert other potential bidders to a 'bargain', which may be good business for the seller but not necessarily to the advantage of the the bidder.

In future, I will ask for premission while the auction is still live, but wait until the auction has finished before posting pics.

P.S., Lizzie-1234 asked to be notified if we did come up with an ID. Do you want me to do it, or will you? If I'm to do it, how long do you want me to wait for?

I'm not entirely sure that a link to an Ebay listing initially is the right answer, it was just a suggestion and probably needs more thought.

Obviously I am hugely in favour of finding ID's for unknown sets and makers, and appreciate your enthusiam, while at the same time there may occasionally be a conflict of interest for me personally if I see a purchase I just made for my own project appear 2 days later on here. (it's happened more than once).

Anne's GTS website is fabulous as are Pamela's sites, but I believe not the sole reason for our discussions on this section of the forum? I think we need some input from Anne, I'm sure she will have some views. :)

I will contact Lizzie to tell her the ID of her set, but feel free to contact her yourself also.

Thank you for the catalogue information, Pamela.

To go with the blue set, I have an image of a clear set on file, and will post it in a few days.

I think linking after the auction has ended is a sensible suggestion, Fred. :)
