Topic: French Studio Glass Jug - signed

I'm trying to ID this piece bought in France but can't make out the signature.

Any French members or collectors of French Studio Glass have any clues ?
Of course it may not be French at all but just following the easy option first.

Where is the signature Peter?  If it can be photographed at a shallow angle you can get the glass to appear "White" and the signature to appear black.  This has the benefit of eliminating the patterns of colour and shape that make reading it so hard.  See the effect in the two photos I attched below.  The shallow angle makes reading the signature so much easier.

Thanks for responding and taking the trouble to show your examples.
The signature can be seen in the last picture (bottom right) at the link. To me it looks quite clear but I just can't make out what it says. I have had difficulty in reading studio artists signatures before even when quite clear which is why I'm searching for name suggestions to see if one will fit. (see topic Feuzbali - Fladgate)
I doubt anyone could read my signature so I can't really point a finger but then I'm not a glass artist.

Just an idea, I recently visited Teign Valley Glass, in Devon.
Its very similar to their pieces, quite often just signed TVG sometimes with artists initials.
I cant quite make out TVG in your photo,  but its in a similar manner.

Ah Pete! Good to see you again, it's been ages!    Your topic highlights a persistent issue - is the country of purchase necessarily the country of origin?     Shall I tweak the title for you?

Thanks for your suggestion. The 2nd word of my signature would appear to begin with a V but the 1st word looks like just an initial and looks like a J to me. The third word could be glass or just as easily something else. Looking at their glass I see a range with canes but very much more straightforward in concept.
So J maybe then V****** then *******?

Thanks but I'm not giving up on the French connection just yet.
I would say the country of purchase is ABOLSUTELY NOT necessarily the country of origin but in this case it's a good place to start.
There must be a couple of dozen French Studio Glass artists out there but I doubt it's into the 100s so may as well eliminate them first.
I am following up on other leads and will report any progress. Pete

I have been given the name of one

The J is fine but struggling to fit the rest of his name to the signature.
His website is down. Trying to contact by other means.
I don'tt see anything similar in the film, but if I understand it correctly, he says that he does not limit himself to any particular style.  Indeed many styles and techniques are shown, albeit briefly. Stunning work IMHO

I googled the name in images - finding this bowl, which looks to me like the same maker as D&D's lampshade and table lamp.

Have been given another French name to conjure with: Jean-Noel Bouillet

This vase http://cgi.ebay.fr/VASE-OVOIDE-DE-JEAN-NOEL-BOUILLET-/170886213627#ht_500wt_1284 shows similar random spotting but that's not enough to go on. Nothing else with any similarities on  Ebay and not at all sure that the name can be made to fit the signature either. Opinions on that welcome.
