discribed the item as : PIETRO BIGAGLIA!!!
Is that honest?

Hi Lothar.

I would have said it was an early Venetian paperweight, with some canes that are similar to those in the 1840s Bigaglia pieces - so I don't think the seller is too far from correct.  But I agree it is hard to see why one should attribute it definitively to Pietro Bigalglia if it is not signed  by him.

But how we can differ: is it Giovanni Fracchini or Pietro Bigaglia?
