Not mine but wish it was,have permission to use pic's,probably one for David,question is what was it for,the slots looks like they could fit small 'pin' trays?

No, glass samples. It was stuffed with a variety of rolled-plate (textured glass, like what they used for the Carnival series of trays and handkerchief vases) in various thicknesses and other samples (coloured, plain, heat-resistant, etc.) so that the salesman could show prospective clients. I have quite a few from Pilkingtons and dozens of different samples (some of which may be Chance). Some time in the future Denis and I will be cataloguing them.

Funnily enough I'm pretty sure this is the box I saw being sold on eBay.

Thanks David,yes it was on ebay,I wanted it but didn't want to pay that much,however my brother did,it's part of his local history collection,Salters,K&J's etc... ;D ;D

It looked to be a very nice example and, yes, I also wanted it! But the price went way beyond what I was prepared to pay for it. Now, if it had all the samples included...  ;)
