Green Scandinavian vase - ID = Riihimaki
« on: August 12, 2012, 08:08:42 PM »
Hello.     I bought this vase on the car boot today for a pound. Its not what I normally buy but its lovely anyway. I'm pretty sure its Scandinavian but can any body tell me anything more. Its 7 inches tall and 4 and a half inches wide. With a clear base. Its growing on me!!!!
Thank you, Cheryl

Looks like Riihimäen Lasi, designed by Nanny Still..............

Your most welcome Cheryl.

I quite like this shape, its a nice strong design and can be found in a variety of colours.

Lovely, I have had these in blue and red, and also a carbon copy (not cased) by Reijmyre.

Hi Adam

That's interesting! in all my years of collecting I've only ever seen this vase in red and bright green.
Do you have a picture of your blue one?

best

Robert

Hi

I was remembering this one - Tamara Aladin 1472 I think - this is smoother. The one posted was probably only produced in the colours you mention.

I also post the Reijmyre - see how it is so similar but is not cased.

Ah, yes.. different!

Thanks for the pictures!

I've since found out it does come in indigo, olive and clear, but the red and green were the export colours! :)
