Unknown signature on vase - ID = William Walker
« on: August 14, 2012, 03:15:17 PM »
I recently bought this small vase at an Antique/collectors fair.
It is100mm tall and 75mm at it's widest. I cannot read the signature on the bottom. The stallholder wasn't even aware it was there so didn't know the maker.
Can anyone help?

Many thanks
Nick

Patience please!! It's barely four hours since you asked. Sometimes these things take years to resolve. Try darkening the signature with some dark powder and taking another shot more straight on. I'm sure we've had something like this before but I can't remember the answer

Well I don't know if this fits but my first thought on seeing the vase but not the signature was William Walker.

I think you're right Flying Free, there are definately to i's with their dots in the first name. At first I wouldn't have said it started with a W but now it seems to be correct.
Now I don't know him ata all, can you point me in the direction of his work/website/etc ?

Many thanks
Nick
