Pressed white milk glass vase with Griffin style decoration
« on: August 24, 2012, 01:18:53 PM »
Any ideas what this creature is???  I'm guessing it is a Griffin as it has stylised feathers, beak and 'furry' paws.  Made in a three part mould, with no markings that I can make out.  The base is a hollow conical shape.  The only other Griffin vase that I can find is the well known Edward Moore one, which is nothing like mine.  The seller thought it might be Sowerby, but I haven't been able to confirm this.  I've searched Portieux just in case, but came up with nothing.

Does anyone know if any other glassworks produced a Griffin vase - assuming of course that that is what mine could be?
TIA  ;)
