Art Deco kneeling lady centrepiece
« on: August 27, 2012, 09:22:28 AM »
Hi all
I have now completed this amber kneeling lady centrepiece set.
My question is-if anyone has any clues please-do you think judging by the "Olympic rings" on the separate bowl and also the bowl she holds was this made as a commerative piece for the 1936 Berlin Olympics?
My personal feeling is that this piece was made by Libochovice, would anyone else agree?
Thanks in advance
Nige

Nigel your pictures dont blow up enough for me to see the detail on her or her bowl.
Can you make them 590 x 390?
thanks

Sadly  :'( I only have the bowl but the acanthus leaves around the base are interesting too. Now on the look out for the stand ;)

Pamela shows it as 'unknown' in the 'figurines and centrepieces' section of
http://www.pressglas-pavillon.de/index2.html
and shows pink and green examples, complete with bowls.

The lady in this stand reminds me of another lady flower frog I have which I have now seen attributed by some to Cambridge glass USA she is a big girl ... measures about 8.5 inches high

The Olympic rings on the bowl I have seen on a long base with 3 recesses, bowl in the centre recess and the recesses on either side had the Libochovice vases with the doves back to back on the base.

Are these really Olympic Rings Nige,  or a looped ring pattern that runs round the entire circumference of the bowl?
