Help with ID of Glass Bowl think it is either Scan or Czech?   Have already posted on Czech Board but could be Scan.  Thanks for you help.   Beautiful Amethyst and Blue Bowl.   Rings like crystal.

I've moved your topic from Scandi into GLASS as that is the proper place to ask for ID help, and the duplicate in Czech has been deleted. Please note that the discussion forums are for items known to have come from those countries, and that duplicate topics cause us problems in following discussions so will be removed or merged. For more help on how the board works please check out the Help Forum at the top of the front page, feel free to ask for advice on where to post if you get stuck, thanks.

HI

By design and features, I would almost certainly say that it is Czech in origin

Could you be a bit more specific about  how the "design and features" make this Czech, please, Dean?I don't see it as being clearly Czech and I wonder of I 'm missing something. Do you mean pre or post WWII Czech?

Hi

What makes me almost certain it is Czech are the following:

1.  The tapered and flared foot
2.  Ths shape and colour of the bowl, and finally
3.  The nautilus style stem

I hope this helps

Best regards

I really don't know much about glass outside U.S.  But for some reason you can say my tingling feeling but I thought it may be Czech also.   Do you think I should move to Czech forum.   Would be nice to know the maker and that would for sure identify the piece.  Any comments on the styling an such?   Thanks

Hi, I think it's probably best if you leave it here under Glass until it is identified.  More people will see it and also it may not turn out to be Czech.  I might have thought Polish rather than Czech?
Also can you explain what the rim of the bowl is like please?  is it firepolished or cut and polished?

Hello questglass. Please don't repost your query elsewhere on the board as ID requests belong in Glass please; once we are sure of its origins a Moderator will move it to the proper discussion forum and update the title to reflect the maker.
