Brown tinted glass cylinder vase. 7.5" tall. 4" dia. across rim
Rim ground flat and bevelled inner and outer edge.
No pontil mark on base - cylinder itself appears to have been moulded before the pair of bands of glass were applied by hand.
Unmarked.

Closest I've come to a possible manufacturer is this, designed by Domhnall Broin for Caithness, but I'd expect it to be marked.

Hi,

It does look like one of DB's ring vases. They were made by using the standard Caithness cylinder vase moulds and adding the rings by hand afterwards.

Short lived design from early 1960's due to production problems ie. smoothing the rings resulting in many seconds. Mine wasn't signed either

Hard to come by but mostly found in Peat (brown) - occasionally moss (green), or loch (blue) and sometimes with contrasting or clear rings. Also available as lamp base

All courtesy of M Hills book

hope it helps

Mel x

I've seen the ones in the "Loch, Heather and Peat" exhibition, yours looks absolutely right!
DB Caithness, seconded.  ;D

And there WOULD have been peace on earth.

They won't have an acid etched Caithness mark, too early for that and neither would they be signed.

Doesn't surprise me. The rings are a bit iffy at the join.

It probably had a paper label
