ID help please - is this large amethyst vase Caithness?
« on: September 10, 2012, 10:45:21 AM »
Hello - This is a large amethyst colour vase - heavy solid base and approx 27cms tall. Rather fat! I was presuming this to be Caithness but can't find anything like it! Any help greatly aprreciated :)

Sorry, I don't think so.  :'(
The shape is wrong, the colour doesn't look quite right in the way it is incorporated, and I don't think the base is right.

I agree with Sue - doesn't look like Caithness to me either.

I have two this shape and size - one green and one blue - I bought them both quite cheaply and think they are modern chinese probably. But a great shape for a large bunch of flowers!

I also agree. Nothing like with the equivalent colour being heather in Mark Hills book on Caithness.

To me that is either La Mediterranea (spanish recycled) or Chinese.
