E&R Paperweight
« on: April 01, 2006, 06:33:14 PM »
[I listed this post on the paperweight board, too.]

The other day I saw a swirled opaque glass paperweight, various shades of browns, greens and tans with a black and silver foil shield shaped label with a crown and letters "E&R" and "Italy."  I'm assuming circa 1950s and Murano.  Through internet research, I determined that this is an importer's label for Ebeling & Reuss, which also operated under the trade name "Erphila."  I know it's difficult without a picture, but does anyone know which company's products they imported, and who the likely manufacturer might be?

The paperweight looks nothing like this one, but the label is identical to eBay item no. 7398272102
For what it's worth, the same label is also found on a couple of birds that are listed on eBay, item no. 7230075309.

Hi Charles,
I've had a question about the E&R labels too, but only had about 2 paperweights in the past with that label. Souds like you have done better than me on your research already!
