Stumped on this one. Any ideas on an ID please?
« on: September 19, 2012, 04:57:36 PM »
Hi everyone

I've been trying to research this piece of glass - my initial thought when I first saw it was Isle of Wight or Alum bay but not coming up with anything

does anyone recognise it?

The silver & gold leaf has been applied to the outside and you can still see the original parts of the square sheets in places

The strapping is clear and quite heavily applied. The base clear with something that feels like a blob rather than a pontil mark

Approx 4 inches tall

any guidance greatly appreciated

cheers!
Mel

Clueless here too, not IoWSG I don't think and I don't think Alum Bay either, (hence my silence).

My guts spoke (uninvited) and said;
"Hmmmmm  Adam Aaronson does gold and silver foil features beautifully and I'm sure he's worked hot glass over a foiled vessel...."
Adam normally always signs pieces, so I'd have thought it would have been signed.....
