Chinese Pedestal Paperweight?
« on: September 21, 2012, 02:23:34 AM »
Hello,

This paperweight was an absentee bid gone wrong.
Since I now own the weight, I really would appreciate and be most grateful for any information on it. My guess is Chinese.....but would like to know for sure. I tried to research with the word pedestal in my search but came up empty. Hopefully, there are a few characteristics that someone might recognize and be able to let me know where it originated.
It measures 4 3/4 inches high and has a polished base. It has a multi color spatter interior body and there are canes arranged in the shape of a star on the outer perimeter with a small circular cluster of canes in the center. Large round top with pedestal base.
Thank you any responses and help,
Kim

Actually, the weight is from Murano, not China.  I've had the same design without the pedestal in several variations.  Sometimes there is a fake date cane.
