Glass Flower Probably TK Maxx but....

A really nice piece of glass. Seems well made to me. Think it is a TK Maxx piece but wondered if anyone knew about the unusual mark seen in the second and third picture. It must be a mark of some sort as it does not fit with the rest of it. It is 24cm wide and 17cm in height. The tail end has a snapped pontil mark that is a little rough but only a couple of mm in size.

Seen in TKMaxx - with Murano labels on. Silver, oval ones, with blue writing on. I think they'rre napkin holders or candlesticks.
(I was hoping for Beranek flowers - I got mine in TKMaxx - it's not all tat!)

I have seen a number of good pieces in TK Maxx. It was a regular of mine to look in. I had a few nice Caithness pieces and Murano but haven't been over that way in a while. A small amount of some Chinese (was my initial guess) glass seems to be getting better but in the main just quickly made with no real feeling. Thanks again Chopin.

I have one of these bought in TK Maxx described as suitable for a votive, although quite how eludes me. I think they are quite nice but have the deceptive Murano label attached (mine does anyway) - 'Vetro Eseguito. Secondo Latecnica De Maestri Di Murano' however in small writing 'Made in Italy' so I don't think these are all Chinese. I like mine, its very decorative.

Not a chance of getting a candle attached to this flower either ! I think it is a well made piece, lots of colours and textures and I got it back from the bootsale undamaged !. Thanks again.

I did play with some of the ones I saw - I worked out the candle should stick in the spiral bit which is propped upright on the flower petals. Table decoration type of thing.

It was made by Chirico of Naples, Italy. It is the type glass that often carries the "Lavorazione Arte Murano" label. Sometimes they have the type label Adam wrote about. You can see a similar one if you check item 408 at

Still feeling a little sheepish about the candle thing
. I was surprised it was murano but could see it was well made. Chalk another success up to the GMB. Thanks all. Pete
