Morningside is an alien area with it's own peculiar plum-in-gob accent. It doesn't count as being Scottish.
I'm from Granton/Goldenacre.
Inverness is the most beautiful accent in Scotland, but not neccessarily the most comprehensible
plain english. Edinburgh is the best
plain accent - the one most easily understood by non-english speakers.
Sadly, when I've been to Inverness in the last few years, I haven't heard the Inverness accent at all. I used to just love walking the streets, listening to the music of the talk of the folk passing by...
