Topic: orange controlled bubble paperweight

This is a controlled bubble paperweight measuring approximately 2 3/4" high and 3" across. It is a lovely colour of orange. On the base there is a half circle of incised dots or slashes. I would like to know the maker?

The marks are just where the bubbles have been ground through to finish the bottom

and it's a feature often seen on Webb's "Flair" vases...... ?
Perhaps it's common, I don't actually know.

Don't think it's Webbs,the 'Flair' range have a polished pontil mark,well mine and the other few I've seen have and Webb weights are concave on the base,all said it may be a later piece

Could it possibly be Whitefriars?

My money is on Holmgaard, but far from being sure.

I doubt it being Whitefriars.  The base would not be flat.   Same goes for Webb.

There are not really rough ends. The base is completely smooth apart from purpose made indentations. They don't appear to be connected to the bubbles at all.

They were some of the controlled bubbles before the base was ground off but I don't think it's Whitefriars. Most if not all the WF controlled bubble weights seem to have one large interior bubble.

Seen these described on various boards as Czech, Wedgwood and Webb.
Definitely not Whitefriars though, the bubbles are too neat and uniform.
Most Ruby ones don't have the large central bubble and very few do.
The rest of the colours most have the large central bubble a few don't.
A few here in the album including a rare large amber without the central bubble and unfinished base, a ruby without the central bubble also ocean green and twilight with the central bubble. The hardest to find, probably  ruby with the central bubble Sky blue also quite hard to find.
