Help needed to identify blue cut vases / beakers
« on: September 30, 2012, 04:44:38 PM »
Hi All,

Please can someone help me identify theses vases or beakers, I purchased them quite a while ago with the hope that I could trace a maker but after hours of research and countless books I don't seem to be any nearer, I cant even narrow it down to country of origin!!

They look to be quite high quality, they are hand blown, very thin with a polished pontil to the base. Each vase has been cut horizontal and vertical to give a cross-hatch appearance (whoever has done this must be very skilled) when you run your hands over the cutting they feel quite sharp and not smooth. Both are a sky blue colour that starts clear at the top until quite dark at the base.

They are a flared beaker style shape both being slightly over 6" and just over 3" across the top. One weighs 260g and the other 270g

Any help would be much appreciated.
