cube glass candleholder with daisies/sunflower
« on: October 01, 2012, 06:27:34 PM »
I have a pair of these candleholders. Heavy cube with embossed flower on each side It measures around  7cm high and  6.75cm on each side. The base is hollow.
No mark and I have tried to look for it in Dartington but to no available. Could they be Scandanavian perhaps?  Would be grateful for any suggestions! Looks to be around 1970 maybe.

Hi Mandi,
Your piece is actually Czech... designed by Vladislav Urban for Rudolfova glassworks in 1969.
You can see the matching vase in the 1969/10 CGR: here.

Thank you for the info on the candleholders. That's brilliant. I have now Googled them and they are the same. I never would have thought about Czech glass.
Thanks again
