Roy - yes, I saw the eBay PY Butterfly with cane garland and torsade. I asked the seller about the size of it. When I had decided how much I would bid, bearing in mind the chip to the dome, I was surprised to see that the listing had ended with a Buy It Now! That's the way things go.

Rose - it is not really a problem that the BT-Yahoo! free webspace is disappearing. That's the way things go. I have all the original details - it would be foolish to set up webpages without keeping personal copies of original data.

What happens from now is still uncertain. I do not have the enthusiasm for such things that I used to.

I might just forget everything and do something else entirely. ;D

Hi Kevin,

Many thanks for that.

My memory is definitely going. I was sure that I had seen a PY butterfly with cane garland and torsade on your site. I wonder where I actually saw it.

Kevin - you should load it all on to a DVD and sell it as an e-book of sorts. I know I'd buy a copy.

I am very grateful to the various folk who have kindly offered assistance and ideas for the future of my web articles. Yes, I even thought about a DVD option, or equivalent.

However, today I made my decision that I will do nothing further about this for the immediate future - which may be at least for the rest of this year. This decision is, in part, driven by a series of minor, but nevertheless energy-sapping, health issues. My enthusiasm is not what it used to be.

Several parts of my articles were in need of update and I may simply rewrite some as articles for future copies of the PCC Newsletter (promises, promises!) or maybe as the basis for a couple of slide-show style presentations (more promises!).

To clarify a point, my article in Angela's "Glass Museum" site, "Identifying Paul Ysart Paperweights" is not affected by the loss of my ISP free webspace.

And, especially for Sophie ..

... I should have mentioned a few posts ago, that there are examples of torsaded butterfly weights shown in that article. See the composite image at the start of the section titled "The Main Pictures". It would be good to know where those weights are now, particularly the triple butterfly, each with its own torsade.

Hi there,

To Kevin - Many thanks. Indeed, this was the paperweight I remembered - although I had forgotten how sophisticated it was.

To Roy - Many thanks. I really this little beauty... Do you know whether this type of butterfly (which varies from more standard designs) is seen in other weights? I have never seen this butterfly design anywhere else.
