« on: October 07, 2012, 01:18:34 PM »
I think this is Scandinavian but is it Orrefors or Kosta ?. It is 14cm in height. Polished base. It is a Blue colour. Does anyone know the maker ?

I have seen this colour in Orrefors but not Kosta ?? The engravings are similar to that seen on both ?? I have no idea which way to go. I have a small Kosta vase with the label that was bought at the same time from the same person. All she said was Scandinavian which does narrow it down to just a few Countries  :-\ Any ideas on which direction I should head ? .

Show us your bottom! The quality of engraving is a bit iffy for either, so perhaps the rear end will reveal more.

Ok that excludes Leerdam. Now for other suspects: Johansfors, Skruf, VSL, Wiesenthalhütte....

Thanks Ivo, now my head hurts ! The bonus in searching your clues is seeing so much stunning glass. I do get side tracked by certain pieces. I am no closer than saying it is Scandinavian. Lots of similar engraving and colour. Not seen this shape yet though. I like the colour on this piece, held at certain angles it shows clear. Could this be a cased clear over a blue or just a hint of blue in the glass ? I am not home right now so cant check. ill keep searching. Thanks again.
Pete. :-)
