Sommerso Bird. Murano?
«

Sommerso Bird on clear pedestal. Red/pink with yellow, clear crest. 7" high. Was thinking Murano but am not 100% sure. I do take risks I know but that's part of the excitement, quite often I turn up something special so it's worth it. When I do buy a bit blind its usually for pounds, I will only pay big money for signed, labelled or attributed pieces.

The form looks quite Seguso-ish but can not see enough detail in your photo, below is one of the Luxardo examples.
This pair got the 'full' treatment:

Colour combo looks ok too. I think Anita's experience would be useful. Have you had a look in the Murano Zoo?

Thanks the bird you show has a much more sophisticated base than mine. Also mine is joined to the base quite roughly with a tube of glass and leans a bit.

The base on the 'Luxardo' pheasant was hollow and came filled with wine or liquor, Luxardo was a liquor company, the various animals used were made by Seguso though.
I would not rule out Seguso for yours yet.

Thanks John. I just saw the Seguso birds in the Zoo and the Luxardo bottles. No I won't rule out Seguso, you never know.
