Help Identifying this crystal/glass fruit bowl?.
« on: October 08, 2012, 01:53:42 PM »
Hi All, I just inherited this gorgeous glassware which I assume is a fruitbowl from my Nan, It would be wondeful if anyone could help me learn more about it.
There is no makers mark or any other kind of identification on it and after hours scouring pictures on this site and others I have not seen anything else quite like it.
I assume it was bought by my Grandfather at least 30 years ago and at the time he was working in Austria and Germany a great deal and many other items in the house seem to be from there so not sure if that helps.
If anyone needs any further detail such as exact sizes let me know.

44 views and no thoughts !, I guess this isn't a common/popular piece.  I'll enjoy it happily in ignorance - thanks for taking the time to look anyway, I appreciate it.

OK if you insist. For cut-to-clear cut glass there is very little hold, as this has been virtually produced for 150 years or so. The 'lemon squeezer' foot would point at an early date (first quarter 19th ct.) but has been in steady production ever since, especially at VSL in Belgium.  VSL would be my first channel of investigation - but be aware there are many others.
