Etched 'fo' or 'of' mark on base of modern glass
«

Hi, I have a couple of modern (1980s) commemorative glasses each of which has an etched or engraved mark on the bottom of the foot which reads "fo" or possibly "of" as it can be read either way. There are no other makers' marks on the glasses. Does anybody know if this is a maker's mark or significes something else? I've attached a picture which shows it as best as I can considering how small the text is.

Hi, thanks for taking the time to take a look at these. Both have 'of' signed to the base.

I'd think Orrefors if seeing 'Of' but the Prince of Wales feathers suggest otherwise. Is it a Prince of Wales investiture or Royal Wedding commemorative? Can't make out the date in the photo. 'Of'/'fo' could be the engravers initials.
Marie.

Mark is the same as one piece I own that I know to be Orrefors.
Same lettering same distance apart. Could be a coincidence though.

Hi, the mark is in the photograph in the first post and is identical on both glasses. The commemorative glass is for the wedding of Charles and Diana.

Yes sorry I forgot that we had already seen it.
I don't see why a Scandinavian glassworks would not make a glass to celebrate an English Royal wedding. The fishes are very scandinavian.

Hi, I did find a reference to 'of' as Orrefors at
http://www.stylendesign.co.uk/guidepages/marksntoq.html
but I am not sure that it is the same format.
I should also mention that one of the glasses has 'PEP 1980' etched into the foot rim in pointilist style. Not sure if it helps but .......
