Hi all,
Can someone help me ID an Art Deco Glass Sculpture of a warrior on Horseback attacking a foot soldier - note the monkey on the reverse.
Someone has suggested that it is from Norse Legend - Beowolf type? what about the monkey?
Would appreaciate any help

Very nice piece..........I believe that many of these Vesta pieces carry raised initial letters somewhere near the base, which read 'G.sc. R. fec.' : - a nice touch which always helps to confirm the attribution - had you seen anything like this? Welcome to the GMB - a very good start by the way

Dear Paul,
Many thanks
I did look when I got it last week but couldn't see any initials but I will look again - Thanks to Mike I was just reading about signatures on these and it stated that it is not unusual to find none, but I will look again now I know what to look for - I also see that there was a complete (with base) one last year at the National Glass Fair.
Have you any idea what sort of price I should be asking
Thanks

would seem that the moulded signature can often be very indistinct, apparently - regret I can't speak from personal experience - so maybe difficult to see. Charles Hajdamach does say that "all pieces from the Vesta range are signed", just depends perhaps how good the mould was.
I've not the remotest idea on values for these things - but as a general comment the GMB usually avoid commenting in that area, since these things can be very subjective. Would imagine that past auction records - ebay listings or contact with a professional retail outlet would be the most reliable way of sourcing a value, but best of luck if you do sell
