My New Glass PET

Hi there:

Meet my new glass pet....my puppy dog.  I just bought him this week at an Antique show here.  Spotted him just before I left.  I am not sure of the age of this item....but is the label for * Seguso Vetri d' Arte*?   What age do you think he is?  He is about 5 inches tall...and in Super shape!  Love the little guy!!

Anymore info on him is greatly appreciated......

Has me singing in my head that old Song:  "How much is that Doggie in the window.....the one with the waggin tail...."

He has lots of Aventurine in him  ;) ;)  My FAV

He's certainly one of the nicest of these I've ever seen - he has such character!
As a scottie dog, he should have a good Scottish name.
What about Rory? You'll have to remember to roll your rrrs when you pronounce it.  ;)

lol......How about * LADDIE *?  That is Scottish.  Or have other ideas for a name ?



I think this is the same label HERE and also HERE .

I guess it is a  " Seguso Dalla Venezia Murano" foil label.  Looks like the same one, IMHO.   So maybe from the 50's/early 60's era.  Is that a Good earlier piece than others??

"Laddie" is just a general word for addressing a young boy, it's not a name.  ;)

I think he's a Rory - you can pronounce it rrrROARrrry.
But he's your pooch! :-*

He looks like a Fox Terrier to me Rose and you said he has a lot of aventurine in him, so how about the Italian for Golden Puppy, Cucciolo d'oro. and you could shorten it to 'Cuchi' as the Cucciolo is pronounced Cuchiolo?

I have a lovely big striped Barbini duck with a golden beak.  I bought him on Feb 14th, so he is called Valentino Oro-becco-Pijiama!!  Pijiama was because his stripes made him look as though he was still in his pyjamas!!

He is lovely and certainly deserves time taken to find the right name for him.  :)

Not a scottie dog.....but a "Wire For Terrier".  He needs a simple name - one I can pronounce......LOL. ;D



Would he be from the 1950's era or so?  So glad he is in such fine shape, and people left the label on him!!

Just a thought Rose, one of the Crufts Winners in the Wire Haired Fox Terrier group was called 'Firecracker'... now your little chappie is a real cracker* and with all that aventurine and his golden colouring,  would Firecracker be an appropriate name for him?

* In English we use the word cracker to mean a really good thing or person!
