Handsome Vase Signed but cannot decifer
« on: October 31, 2012, 10:04:58 PM »
Acquired this lovely piece recently but cannot 100% decifer the signature, think I must have taken about 15 pics of the base to try and get a decent pic for here :D.   Signature under my magnifier looks like F Chorlton-Merrill.  Also appears hand decorated.  Any ideas anyone please

It looks like an amateur piece. I can't decide whether it's a dog or a cat!

A morbidly obese collie?
I'd agree, it does look very un-professional.

Looks like an Overstuffed Bear to me!!! I agree that its probably someone trying their hand at engraving.
