It is not Chinese, but rather is an antique New England Glass Company (Cambridge, Massachusetts) scramble, circa 1850-1870.

New England Glass Company (NEGC) operated in Cambridge, Massachusetts from 1818 to 1888.

Thanks Allan I really appreciate your help. I'm also quite happy with it being NEGC even though it's pretty scuffed up.
