pearlescent vase for ID please
« on: November 04, 2012, 02:27:07 PM »
Last one for now, thought it would be much easier to pin down than it's proving to be  :-[

Beautiful smooth iridescent pearl-like finish, (definitely a hint of pink but not as much as is showing in the pics) contrasting with the raised green spatter

ground pontil 3.5 inches tall 4.5 inches wide

any pointers gratefully received

cheers, Mel

I could have sworn there was one on Craig's site,
John; I have seen this colour variation before, was tempted by a massive vase in this style, around 14-16 inches but it had too much damage to the rim. ;D,positive this is Kralik, ;D ;D

Fair enough, I would not argue with Kralik but in Mel's photos it doesn't look like their mother of pearl (I appreciate comparing photos can have it's complications).

hi John,

I would agree about the colour of mine not looking like the Kralik examples but I do think that is just a combo of the light (very odd yesterday) and my camera. It is much whiter i real life - did you see the link I posted yesterday? I'd say it was its twin brother and the colour is spot on for mine
