Alsterfors? soda vase
« on: January 03, 2013, 08:48:54 PM »
Hi,
I wonder if anyone can help in identifying this 6" tall vase please. The shape is typical of cased vases often attributed to Alsterfors but this vase is not cased.
Thanks,
Bryn

Hi Bryn, could be, I've attached a couple of uncased versions I've had, plus a different uncased shape in a similar colour with a label.

The only thing I'm not sure about, is the shape of yours seems a bit "squashed" vertically, and the corners aren't as sharp looking.

Hi Wayne,
I can see what you mean. The corners definitely seem to be softer on my example yet the overall design seems to be the same. There are movement marks around the base edges so it does have some age. I may well list it and see how it goes.
Thanks again for your help.
Bryn.

Hi Bryn,
100% Alsterfors. Yours looks like the shortest version of the range.
Made in numerous cased and uncased colours.
