Smoky blue vase with inscription by Erkii Vesanto for Iittala
« on: November 18, 2012, 02:24:38 AM »
Yet more from the basement...

This small vase is 15.25cm high by 5.25cm diameter. The smoky blue-grey colour is probably emphasised by the presence of some water staining. It has a distinct conical dent in the base which is rounded and unpolished. The rim is nicely polished on a slight incline inwards with the arrises evenly chamfered inside and out. There is an inscription on the bottom that I cannot decipher. However, the shape is familiar and I feel I should know this one. Can anyone help?

Thanks, m. I probably knew it was Iittala (if I'd thought about it hard enough), but I would not have guessed the designer.
