Help needed - Cranberry red hand painted vase
« on: November 16, 2012, 02:26:49 AM »
My mom got it from her mom in the 1960's but is not sure how old it is. (My mom is 80). Itr has no obvious lines from a mold, looks almost black but the glass is a deep red. Any help would be appreciated.

Very likely, her mom grew up in Michigan and then the family moved to Oregon around 1941. It would likely have been bought in Michigan or Oregon if that helps. Can't rule out foreign, but I would guess made in USA

Ok, this weekend she decided it was probably bought in California, in the 1960's.

Not quite what you would expect for Scott McKenzie era  ::)   so forget decoration possibly not professional and vase could have been second hand then. I would say Czech, Italy or USA
