Signed Bowl - Thoughs on Signature Name?
« on: November 21, 2012, 05:02:56 AM »
Hello everyone,
I have this bowl with swirl designs, and looking closely I found it was signed.
Here are some photos of the signatures....

On the 1st photo, it looks to have a "symbol" "max -"
On the 2nd, is the continuation of the name, but I have no idea what it says.

3rd photo is on another section of the bottom, and looks to say "W A 19"

4th photo is on another section, but I cannot read it.
Any thoughts on the maker of this piece?
Thank you in advance,
Javier

Thank you very much!
From the photos I am seeing, it does look like his piece.
So far from the bowls i see, their signatures are a little different.
They do not have as many things written on them as mine does.
Maybe it was a special piece because of the colors?

If it is it should have a needle etched ' Max Verboeket Maastricht' on it in really tiny script - No other text. Ashtrays like these were sold right up to 1972 in V&D stores in the netherlands at suprisingly low prices. They are still not very highly valued here.
