Vase with four arms, Chribska, Skrdlovice or other?
« on: November 25, 2012, 11:12:12 AM »
When this vase arrived I thought it may have been made by Chribska but I have not been able to find it in the information available on Jindrichs's site. A friend thought it may be by Skrdlovice but again I have not found it yet.

So, is it even Czech? A substantial hot worked vase with four arms, polished and bevelled base, 22.5cm tall.

John, your vase could well be Srkdlovice (the colour combination is a little bit unusual, but I have seen it before).
Here is >> link to CGR on Jindrich's great site showing a very similar vase, PN 6348/23 cm (hight would fit quite well), designed by Emanuel Beranek. The arms are quite a bit longer in yours, though.

That said, Chribska made vases in very similar shape for a long time...

Thank you Michael, I think you have it there. 8)
It has been a while since I have been through those CGR pages and I need a refresher. ;D

Here it is from a similar angle to the CGR photo and it does look a very good match with the vase actually in front of me. The Chribska vases I found all have three or five arms.
