Here is an item I bought at auction for Peggy several years ago. Measures about 4.75 inches in diameter and 3 inches tall. Glass is amethyst, although it takes a very bright light held closely to see that it is actually not black. Although unmarked, at least that I have seen, I believe the silver overlay is Sterling. The lid and the body of the jar/box have fine ground and polished rims. The underside shows age wear and I would estimate the age to the 1920's. Country of origin and/or company are completely unknown. The quality of the glass is very good. Any help here would be greatly appreciated...... Hopefully someone has seen this before.....  We would, love to know something about it.......

TIA  to all,
I have been told that glass is my mistress......
