Topic: EDWARD BOLTON Daisy Block/button Boats

Hi! I have just joined after searching for info on the above & finding this site. I did see other posts in the same vein, but 'got lost' trying to re-find them!

Anyway, to my question: I have one of these boats, passed to me from my Mum. It is a clear pressed glass (I always called it 'Depression Glass') with daisy/button patterns as I saw described here. It is approx. 13 inches (33cm) long & has a moulded number '39414' on the inside of the stern, but no other markings or name on it. I did see info on this site regarding these flower trough boats with a ladies name on them, but this one doesn't.
IS it by the maker Edward Bolton c.11th Dec. 1885, as I have been told by a collector?
I know my Mum has had it all of my life (60yrs) & my g'parents on both sides were English & it could have come from either side originally. What would this  realistically be worth to resell? This is a pic of it.

Welcome to the board. It is indeed by Edward Bolton with that registration number. The design dates to 1885, though not necessarily the boat itself.

Here's another of Mum's treasures .. is this style known as 'nappy' dish & why? Is this a display plate for fruit or ?   It is quite pretty, but I have no idea where to display or use it.
